You must be fasting (water and food) four (4) hours before your exam.
If you absolutely need to take medication during those 4 hours, you can take them with a small sip of water.

Scan (with contrast injection)

Scan coronary calcium scoring
24 hours before the exam, you should not take medications such as Viagra, Cialis, etc.
12 hours before the exam, you must not
- Drink caffeine drinks : coffee, tea, soft drink
- Smoke
- No physical exercice, including sex
Ultrasound (abdominal, abdominal or pelvic)
If your exam is during the morning, you must be fasting from midnight on the day of your appointment. You can, however, drink water (only) and stop two hours before your exam.
If your exam is during the afternoon, you must be on an empty stomach five (5) hours before the time of your appointment, however, you can take water (only) and stop two hours before your exam.
Pelvic Ultrasound (Woman)
You must not urinate 90 minutes before the exam
Pelvic Ultrasound (Man)
You must drink 500ml of liquid 90 minutes before the exam and not urine afterwards until the exam.
Mammography
You must be able to stand unaided for the duration of the exam (15 minutes).
If this is not the case or you have reduced mobility, please call us. We will need more information before we can give you an appointment to ensure that we can perform your exam safely.
You must not have used deodorant, perfume, cream or powder.
You must not have any lesion or injury to your breasts.
If so, please call us. We will need more information before we can give you an appointment. In most cases, in the presence of a lesion or severely irritated skin, the technologist cannot proceed with the examination.
Osteodensitometry
You should not take any calcium and/or citamin D supplements within 48 hours of the exam.
Virtual Colonoscopy
To obtain a good quality exam, we ask that you strictly follow the preparation that we will give you, from start to finish.
If the preparation is not well done, it will unfortunately have to be started again. This preparation includes:
- You will need to pick up Barium at the Radiologie Varad clinic which you will need to drink the day before your exam
- You will need to get Citromag and Dulcolax from the pharmacy to use the day before your exam
- You will be on a liquid diet the day before your exam
- You will need to take laxatives the day before your exam
- We strongly recommend that you be accompanied for your exam
- There are no contraindications for this examination

Hysterosalpingography
You must have a negative Chlamydia test or a prescription for Doxycycline.
You must have taken a pregnancy test within the last 24 hours and not had any sexual intercourse afterwards.
You must have a small sanitary pad to wear after the exam.
Facet block
You must not eat 4 hours before the exam
You can drink up to 1 hour before the exam
