Abdominal ultrasound

(For people older than 12 years)

• Fasting after midnight, the night prior to the examination. Drinking water is allowed up until two hours before the examination.
• If your appointment is in the afternoon, you cannot eat five hours before the examination.  Drinking water is allowed up until two hours before the examination. 

Pelvic Ultrasound

(For persons over 12 years of age)

• You do not have to drink a specified quantity of water, but please do not urinate 90 minutes before the exam.

Prostate ultrasound

• Fleet enema two hours before the exam In accordance with your doctor, take 2 pills of Cipro 500 mg as needed, one 2 hours before the study and the other at bedtime the day of the exam.
• Please bring to the exam your blood test results, especially PSA, if you are over 45 years of age.

MRI abdomen

• Fasting 4 hours before the study
• Please advise the technologist if you have allergies
